Doncaster Re-Furnish
Doncaster Re-Furnish has been providing affordable furniture, electrical appliances and household goods to local residents, since 2003. The social enterprise collects unwanted household items and makes them available to local people in need.
Key Fund Yorkshire has supported Doncaster Re-Furnish throughout this time – helping with such things as producing a feasibility study and business plan, and purchasing a residential property. Most recently, the Key Fund gave a grant and loan package of £80,000 to help with opening a new furniture retail outlet.
Doncaster Re-Furnish were recently rewarded for their hard work by winning a Biz Award for Enterprise through Innovation, proving that they have combined innovative methods of working with unique products and modern practices; creating energy in their business and making a genuine difference. The group also beat off strong competition, from all over Yorkshire and the Humber, for the prestige title of Business of the Year at the awards ceremony in June.
