The Faceless Company Ltd
The Faceless Company, founded in 1990, is a professional arts organisation working nationally to create access to the arts for all through outdoor performance, community arts and event management projects.
Faceless travels to communities to deliver a range of participatory arts, community engagement programmes and community events which develop aspirations, stimulate activity and nurture social and creative skills. They use the arts to explore identity, heritage and a sense of belonging with children, young people, adults and senior citizens across the Yorkshire & Humber region and nationally, actively seeking to encourage participation from those in need or at the margins of our society. Faceless bring art and people together, working imaginatively on street corners, at festivals and within communities, encouraging creative activity for all regardless of age, culture, language or ability.
In October 2008 Key Fund Yorkshire awarded Faceless with a £5,000 grant and a loan of £8,772. The Faceless Company had approached the Key Fund for financial support to help with the purchase of a new van, back filling the Artistic Directors post to free her up to develop new services, a contribution to the Community Engagement Managers post to allow this post to become full time, and investment in upgrading their financial and project management systems.
The support from the Key Fund is allowing Faceless to extend the reach and relevance of their work, helping towards their belief that everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves creatively.
