KICK4Change CIC
KICK4Change CIC aspires to become the first social enterprise sports brand, providing a wide range of footwear, clothing and equipment.
The North Yorkshire companies initial main activity will be the sale of own branded ‘entry level’ (5-8 year olds) children’s football boots and trainers. KICK4Change are planning to sell to parents through approved school uniform lists, to charities and to large companies for donation to children in both the UK and Africa as part of their corporate social responsibility activity.
Eventually KICK4Change’s aim is to secure a deal for retailing the boots and trainers with a nationwide retailer, then going on to develop a equipment and clothing range.
In February 2009 Key Fund Yorkshire provided KICK4Change with a £10,000 grant, a £40,000 loan and £50,000 of equity finance. The £100,000 will be used to support the early development and growth of the company, including covering salary costs, PR and marketing costs, and office rental. This will enable KICK4Change to move forward into a position where they are able to begin trading.
