Darnall Community Nursey Limited

Darnall Community Nursery provides childcare and family support services to people in Darnall and the surrounding areas. The organisation also provides childcare training and outreach services.

In June 2007, Key Fund Yorkshire provided Darnall Community Nursery with £5,000 to enable a feasibility study to be undertaken. The Nursery wanted to refurbish two pavilions on a local playing field. The idea behind the refurbishment was to allow the nursery to expand to include two day nurseries, a café, meeting rooms and sports changing facilities.

The study recommended a two stage approach to the project, developing the smaller top pavilion first as a 16 place facility for 3-5 year olds. Darnall Community Nursery applied to the Key Fund for support towards these development costs.

In April 2009, the Key Fund awarded Darnall Community Nursery with a £10,000 grant and £20,000 loan, towards the refurbishment costs, the purchase of new children’s play equipment and administration, marketing and recruitment costs.
